Philly this Weekend

There will be much to do this weekend in Philly. Everything from free museum admission to Wawa Welcome America. Alongside these events the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Reading Terminal will celebrate their anniversaries.

Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Convention Center with a community festival with live entertainment, tours of the Center’s $1.5 million art collection, birthday cake and a screening of the movie SING on Saturday, June 30 from 12 to 5 p.m. On the same day, across the street, the Reading Terminal Market also celebrates its 125th anniversary with the Philly Scoop Ice Cream Festival June 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Not interested in the large crowds, take the kiddos down to 54th and Lindbergh’s Bertram”s Garden for a free 30 min boat ride down the Schuylkill River. No registration is required. All ages are welcomed, minors must be accompanied by an adult. They will provide boats or kayaks, life jackets, and basic instruction. Walk past the free parking area onto the Meadow Trail, downhill to the Boathouse. Event will be cancelled in the vent of rain, high winds, or outfall overflows.
