The summer has been very busy and my apologies for lack of posts. Now that we have began to prepare for the upcoming school year, parents are busy purchasing school uniforms and school supplies. Coupons and researching the best deals is essential when a parent has multiple children. One way to decrease the cost is looking for Back to School Events. You can find everything from basic school supplies, to book bags, to hair cuts and most of these events have family-friendly fun attached, So although some events have come and passed I have stumbled upon a few that will take place this weekend and next in Philly and Buffalo, NY.
Philly!! Celebrate a local business' 2nd year anniversary while they give back to the community! Milano Di Rouge located on 15th and Spring Garden is having a Back to School event on August 28th 5-8p. They will be offer 300 Milano book bags filled with school supplies. They will sponsor food, sweets, live DJ, game truck and even free bundles via B. Blaze Hair Boutique! I love that this business is giving back after being blessed with success after only two short years! Love!!!! Raymour & Flanigan Furniture will be hosting a Back to School Supplies Giveaway at their Plymouth meeting Store August 25th 11a-2p. They will give away book bags, pens, and pencils while supplies lasts. Light refreshments, face-painting, balloons, and vendors. You can preregister on Eventbrite. Lastly, there is a phenomenal woman who encourages children to read. She is the author of Tamara Goes to School. In the book she speaks of building self-esteem. She is hosting a back to school event "School is In, Let the Reading Begin" where students will have a change to receive her book! The vent will take place on September 23, 2018 1-4p at Sturgis Playground. She will also sign-up 50 students for a book reading contest where the winner will receive a gift card to Barnes and Nobles! If you are looking to donate, Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit organization focused on children birth-12 years living in homelessness and low-income households with basic essentials. Cradle to Crayons will accept school supply donations August 25th 1-7p.

Peace & Co., an Islamic Clothing Store is new to the area and doing fantastic! This business is linking with other local businesses, the Mayor Office, the Buffalo Police Commissioner, and Buffalo Fire Department to present their first ever Back 2 School Event. They will host a large extravaganza to bring all ethnicities in the Broadway-Fillmore area together to celebrate back to school. It will take place on Broadway in front of their plaza located at 1105 Broadway, September 1st, 11-5p. Peace & Co. will offer free Halal hot dogs, pony rides, interactive activities, bounce houses, bike giveaway, book bags, supplies, vendors, and more. Again, another business blessed to do phenomenally and give back to the community! May you continue to prosper and the event be a much success!
Kids need a phone? Stop in to Metro PCS, Union Rd, West Seneca location August 25th 1-3p and they will be supplying students with school supplies. Metro PCS, bailey Ave, Buffalo, NY location will offer school supplies September 1st 12-2p.

Mount Ararat Temple partnered with their Youth and Millennial Ministries will be hosting their 5th Annual Back 2 School Supply giveaway. They will offer free school supplies along with food, snacks, and games. Students are required to write a 10 sentence essay about how they can get better grades in school. Operation I Am, Inc will be giving out book bags and school supplies to children who are need August 25th 12-4p at Edward Saunders Community Center. Distribution will be on a first come, first served basis. They will also offer free food and more.
